Thomas Ferrand, founder of EfficientAgri
The world of tomorrow will face a series of economic, demographic, environmental and geopolitical challenges. Established in 2019, EfficientAgri has a single goal: to help farms and agricultural entrepreneurs meet these multi-faceted challenges with resilience and efficiency.
With a background in engineering and management of agricultural equipment, and practice within a mixed family farm, my passion for agricultural machinery runs deep. My career has been marked by diverse experiences in France and abroad. Further broadening my horizons, I spent a year in Romania as agricultural equipment manager for a 4,700 hectare farm. Here, I learned the Romanian language but I also managed teams of 15 people while supervising the operation of 80 machines.
In 2021, I took on a new challenge by carrying out a V.I.E. in England. As a Product Specialist for an agricultural equipment manufacturer my mission was to manage a complete range of machines dedicated to grass harvesting, animal beeding and feeding, as well as landscape maintenance. Building on this dynamic, in 2023 I joined a leading French group in agricultural machinery as Export Area Sales Manager. I manage sales and relationships in nine countries.
Enriched by these various experiences, and supported by my grandfather, Jean-Louis Vaterkowski, I decided in 2019 to launch the company EfficientAgri and begin the development of the PRETA software. This solution supports agricultural companies in the management of their fleet of machines while taking into account the invoicing of operations, maintenance, parts inventory management, fuel consumption and the organization of schedules for operators and machines.
